Gosaikunda Shemanic Experience

 

A1 Excursion would like to provide you with some information concerning its very new program the “Shaman Experience”. This will be a unique tour which will take you trekking through the beautiful mountainous region of Langtang. This trek is one of it kinds combining the experience of trekking through one of the most beautiful area of a Nepal with a crew that includes a shaman and a botanist. This experience will be one to remember and you will not be able to find this kind of trip with any other organization.

The trek will take you through the Tamang Heritage trail and will lead you to the shaman festival of the Lake Goasiankunda. Tamang Heritage Trail offers a view of Himalayan life-style and culture. The trail will leads you through green midlands, beautiful landscapes of alpine terrain, flat meadows and rhododendron forest while experiencing the culture of the Tamang people. Throughout the trail, we pass through the traditional Tamang Villages where you will be greeted with warm traditional welcome, their local music, their elaborated costumes and rich architecture of the mountain houses. In addition to these cultural experiences, the home stay part will offer you a chance to experience the warm Tamang hospitality.

In order to get to the Lake Goasiankunda, we will walk along the Langtang Trek. Langtang Trek has somehow managed to guard its secret beauties which make the Langtang valley a trekker's paradise. The majestic mountains of Langtang Lirung (7246m) to the north, Gang Chhenpo (6388m) to the south and Dorje Lhakpa (6990m) to the east dominate the beautiful Langtang valley. Langtang trek passes through lush forest and less visited diverse ethnic groups' settlements to the vantage view point called Kyanjin Gompa and beyond. Langtang trek offers an opportunity to explore the rich mingled cultural heritage of Tibetan origin Lama and Tamang people, and their ornately carved wooden windows, lively dance festivals and skilled weaving traditions.

There are many shaman festivals celebrated in Nepal but the two main festivals are celebrated in the full moon of August and full moon in October. The August shaman festival is celebrated in the majestic Gosainkunda Lake. You will be spending three nights at this lake and will be able to enjoy this famous shaman festival.

While on trekking:
