Jumla Rara Circuit Trek starts from Jumla and we visit Rara Lake (3170 m), which lies in the remote Karnali region in the north-west of Nepal and is centerpiece of Rara Lake National Park. Rara Lake is Nepal’s largest lake and is a clear blue mountain lake with juniper, spruce and pine trees along its shores and snowcapped peaks in the distance. We fly in to Jumla and the first part of the trek takes us through forests and over alpine meadows with herds of sheep and goats. After three days we reach the stunning Rara Lake with fantastic views of Dolpo and Tibetan mountains across the deep blue water. We spend a day exploring the area with abundant wildlife and enjoy the quiet beaches and the views. The four day return trek to Jumla takes us through remote villages and alpine pastures with great views of the mountain ranges on the border to Tibet and southern part of Humla. During this trek, you go through the most undeveloped places i.e. Jumla, where there are no means of transportation, no good education but obviously you’ll get the good views, friendly people and good vacation all along. Day 1 Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj Day 2 Fly from Nepalgunj to Jumla and then trek from Jumla to Sisamul 5-6 hrs, Ascending Day 3 Sisamul to Tharamara 6 hrs. Over Kharila (3040m) Day 4 Tharamara to Bumraa 5-6 hrs Day 5 Bumra to Bhulbhule 5-6 hrs Day 6 Bhulbhule to camp on north shore of Rara Lake 6-7 hrs Day 7 Rest day to Explore Day 8 Camp to Gorosingha 5-6 hrs 770m ascent, 830 descent Day 9 Gorosingha to Sinja 4-5 hrs 450m ascent, 1010m descent Day 10 Sinja to Chalachaur 5-6 hrs 830 m ascent Day 11 Chalachaur to Jumla 3-4hrs 240m ascent, 1140m descent Day 12 Fly back to Nepalgunj and then to Kathmandu.
