6th International Elephant Race Sauraha, Chitwan (26-28 Dec, 2009)

The annual International Elephant Race at Sauraha, Chitwan began with much fan fare from Saturday, 26th December. The three-day elephant extravanganza will be held at a playground in Baghmara Community Forest at the buffer-zone of Chitwan National Park. 21 groups with 10 international and 11 national teams are competing in the race.The event also includes a boat race, bullock cart race and elephant soccer.
