The Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) will be electing a new executive board during its 46th annual general meeting (AGM) scheduled for Friday.
Three groups have registered their candidacy with 12 executive members in each panel. There are 367 travel and tour representative members under NATTA casting their vote.
The three candidates vying for the president's post have pledged to remove the problems bedevilling the tour and travel sector with effective and committed leadership.
Surya Prakash Shrestha of Om Travels and Tours, one of the contestants for the presidency, said that the members were well supporting his panel. "We have assured the members of resolving all the small and medium problems existing in the tour and travel trade," he said.
He said that there were many irregularities and syndication prevailed in the sector for the last 16 to 17 years, which our panel had assured to uproot and make the industry more transparent and vibrant. "I am confident of winning the panel," he said.
