The Nepal Embassy in Doha organised Nepal-Qatar Sales Mission 2010 in Qatar on Sunday as part of its tourism promotional programme.
Ambassador of Nepal to Qatar Surya Nath Mishra inaugurated the event amid a function.
On the occasion, Mishra highlighted Nepal as a safe destination and country of immense natural beauty and requested the guests to make Nepal as the destination of their choice.
Diwakar Bikram Rana, manager of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB),
spoke about the Nepal Tourism Year 2011 campaign and said that Nepal was one of the most preferred destinations in the world.
The NTB also presented a montage consisting of a pictorial elaboration of Nepal's natural, cultural and geographical beauty and diversity, the board said.
David R. Paul, marketing and sales executive of Mannai Holidays, informed the guests about a seven-day package tour of Nepal. He added that the agencies could offer various packages as per the demand of visitors.
The programme was held under the aegis of the embassy in coordination with the NTB, Nepal Airlines Corporation, Mannai Holidays, a local travel agency in Doha, and the Nepal Non-Resident Federation of Indige-nous Nationalities, Doha.
The programme is expected to have a positive impact on the citizens and the expatriate community in Qatar to induce them to visit Nepal besides encouraging local travel agencies to sell various tour packages to Nepal.
This event was organized to support the Nepal government's economic diplomacy drive to promote Nepal in Qatar and beyond, the NTB said.
