Nepali professionals, community members and students of the Washington-Metropolitan area organised a Nepal Tourism Year 2011 (NTY-2011) promotion campaign on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at the National Mall, Washington, DC.
The National Mall is a major tourist attraction in the capital surrounded by the US Capitol, Washington Monument and various museums.
There were twenty volunteers who helped to promote the NTY-2011 by distributing brochures to the visitors during the event. They also attracted visitors by wearing white T-shirts with Nepal Tourism Year 2011 on the front and Visit Nepal 2011 on the back.
The organisers said they have successfully managed to inform the visitors about the tourism promotion year and actively encouraged them to visit Nepal.
Many enthusiastic tourists were provided with information about Nepal on various attractions and events, natural beauty, adventures and other travel information. nepalnews.com
