KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoTCA) along with Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) will celebrate 31st World Tourism Day on September 27 with the global theme, “Tourism and Biodiversity”. For the celebration of 31st World Tourism Day, the ministry and the NTB are organising various functions on September 27. “For Nepal Tourism Year 2011, we are now focusing on international marketing,” said Prachanda Man Shrestha, Chief Executive Officer of NTB.
“Tourist arriving from the first flight will be welcomed and a procession from Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) to Thamel will be organised,” said Shrestha. Welcome programme will be organised at Pokhara Airport and Lukla Airport. About 34 tourism organisations will participate in the celebrations, he said.
Miss Nepal Sadikshya Shrestha, first runner-up Sahana Bajracharya and second runner-up Samyukta Timsina will also promote NTY 2011 at three different beauty contests that they are going to take part in Beijing, Shangai and Vietnam respectively,” he said, adding that Khagendra Thapa Magar, the shortest boy in the world, will also promote NTY 2011 as NTY 2011 goodwill ambassador. |
