KATHMANDU: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) in coordination with the Nepali Embassy in Japan and Japan Chamber of Commerce of Nepal (JCCN) took part in JATA World Travel Fair at Tokyo on September 24-26 to give momentum to the growing trend of arrivals and to tell the participants about Nepal Tourism Year (NTY) 2011 campaign.
Coinciding with JATA, the first International Launch of NTY 2011 was organised on September 27 in Tokyo on the World Tourism Day jointly by the Nepali Embassy in Japan and Nepal Tourism Year 2011 Secretariat. The first woman Mount Everest Summiteer Junko Tabei and Everest Summiteers Yuichiro Miura, Gora Miura and Mikihito Fujimori were declared as Goodwill Ambassadors in Japan for NTY 2011. “NTY 2011 is not only about tourism promotion but it is an opportunity to tell the world that after turmoil, peace is back,” said Yogendra Shakya, National Programme Coordinator for NTY 2011. “All political parties and the people of Nepal have come together to welcome tourists,” he said.
