KATHMANDU: Nepal Tourism Board in cooperation with private travel trade companies participated in India International Travel Mart (IITM) that was organised in Hyderabad from December 3 to 5 as part of a regular promotion campaign.
The people of Hyderabad were interested in visiting Nepal for adventure, leisure and religious purposes, especially for Kailash and Manasarovar pilgrimage. The three-day fair was significant to disseminate tourism information about Nepal among the people and interact with new and existing tour operators.
An interaction with local media left lasting impression about Nepali tourism products and services. Nepal was promoted with special emphasis on upcoming campaign Nepal Tourism Year (NTY) 2011 with the theme ‘Together for Tourism’. The visitors to the fair were interested in knowing special offers and packages for Indian tourists during the NTY 2011. The mart was organised by Sphere Travel Media Pvt Ltd and was supported by Andhra Pradesh Tourism. Nepal’s stall received ‘Best International Tourism Product Award’ during the mart. Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Dubai, Switzerland, Egypt and Sri Lanka also participated in the mart.
Four Nepali tour operators — East Link Travels and Tours, Monterosa Treks and Expedition, Rajbala Treks and Expeditions and Ultimate Treks Nepal — showcased their packages at the mart.
