Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) along with other participants from the Nepalese travel trade took part in the BIT Fair 2011 held in the commercial city of Milan from February 17-20 this year.
BIT-Borsa Internationale del Turismo is a very important fair, which is dedicated to operators, provides new contents in travel, services and trainings, enhancing what is in offer for travellers with new trends and emerging destinations. About 130 countries from all around the world participated in the fair, a press statement issued by NTB said Sunday.
The Fair showcased various products in tourism and gave special platform to tour operators, travel agencies, MICE, hotel chains, etc.
The theme emphasized was for honeymoon travel, gaming tourism and mountain tourism.
The fair in the four days witnessed participation of nearly 25000 visitors and hosted workshops for more than 600 buyers.
“Our participation in BIT 2011, this year, focused on garnering support and cooperation from all travel trade fraternity, press and general public for our mission of enhancing sustainable and eco-friendly tourism image of the country,” the press statement stated.
