KATHMANDU: Dragonair honoured its top agents Sumegh Tours and Travel, Osho World Travel Nepal, Gorkha Vision Travels, Deurali Travel and Jaya Travels. Shangri-la Freight, Legend Cargo and Kumari Air Freight Intl were honoured in the cargo category. The airline operates six flights a week from Kathmandu to Hong Kong as compared to three flights last summer in its bid to support Nepal Tourism Year 2011. The airline operates connecting flights from Kathmandu to destinations such as Australia, North America, and Japan with Cathay Pacific Airways.

KATHMANDU: Civil Bank Ltd on the occasion of International Women’s Day announced attractive new features of its 'Civil Bank Nari Bachat Khata' for accounts opened from March 9 till April 25. According to the bank’s CEO Kishore Maharjan, the account will offer an interest rate of 8.75 per cent per annum, 50 per cent discount on SWIFT Transfers and Demand Drafts and accidental death/permanent disability insurance up to Rs 0.5 million or four times the balance, whichever is lower.
NTY function in Paris
KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Nepal in Paris hosted a function on March 16 at UNESCO Hall in Paris. According to NTB, Mohan Krishna Shrestha, Ambassador of Nepal to France, informed the guests about Nepal Tourism Year-2011. On the occasion, Senator Kucheida expressed his happiness to attend the inaugural ceremony and wished Nepal Tourism Year a grand success.
Rebate on generators
KATHMANDU: Laxmi Concern, authorised agent of Daishin’s Generators for Nepal, has announced 20 per cent discount on its Japanese generator sets on the occasion of its first anniversary. "The offer will last up to March 31," it said, adding that the generators are available from 2.2 KVA to 4.8 KVA with one-year warranty. The company has its service centre in Naxal, Kamal Pokhari.
Everest Insurance
KATHMANDU: Everest Insurance Company approved twenty per cent dividend in its 16th AGM on Wednesday from the Rs 41-million profit it earned in the last fiscal year. The AGM also elected Rajendra Khetan, Ratna Lal Sanghai, Niranjan Kumar Tiberwala, Prem Prakash Khetan, Madhusudhan Agrawal, Om Prakash Sikaria, Birendra Kumar Shah, Ravi Kumar Tebrewala and Prasad Jwali as member to the board of directors of the company. The company has shown a growth of forty-one per cent this fiscal year by earning an insurance premium of Rs 362 million.
NTB at MATTA Fair
KATHAMANDU: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) in coordination with Nepal Airlines Corporation participated in MATTA Fair from March 11-13 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. According to a press release, the fair was inaugurated by YB Dato Dr James Dawos Mammit, deputy minister of tourism, on March 11. He visited the Nepali stall and praised the country of Mt Everest. MATTA Fair is a popular travel fair in Malaysia getting a huge response from travel trade and general public with 990 stalls and 201 participating organisations.
