An octogenarian politician and human rights activist, Shailendra Kumar Upadhyay is planning to climb Mt Everest and set the record as the oldest Everester.
Min Bahadur Sherchan is, currently, the oldest person to scale the tallest peak in the world.
Upadhyay, 82, said he is preparing to start his expedition on April 18 and plans to complete within 45 days. Upadhyay briefed his plans by organising a press conference in the Capital.
