Located in the Himalayan mountain ranges of the remote Southwestern corner of Tibet, Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake are the most significant spiritual spots for the Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. Every year, thousands of pilgrims visit Kailash Mansarovar with a believe that circumambulating Mount Kailash on foot is a holy ritual that will bring good fortune. Hinduism and Budhhism do trek in a clockwise direction and also it is believed that holy water of Mansarovar Lake washes away the curse of sin. Mount Kailash has long been an object of worship as the domain of Lord Shiva. The path around Mount  Kailash is 52 km (32 m) long. Mt. Kailash trek can be completed in three days. Walking around the holy mountain - a part of its official park - has to be done on foot and can also hire a pony or horse.  Taking  some three days of trekking starting from a height of around 15,000 ft (4,600 m) pass the Tarboche (flagpole) to cross the Drölma pass 18,200 ft (5,500 m), and encamping for two nights en route. The journey can be started from Kathmandu – Kailash Mansarovar – Kathmandu.
