Pharping Champadevi hiking is an easy and enjoyable day hike on the southern hill of Kathmandu Valley. Dakshinkali Temple is a symbol of the goddess Kali and attracts thousands of devotees every day. After a holy tour to the Dakshinkali Temple, we return to Pharping village and commence our hiking upwards to Champadevi Hill. It will take about 2 hours to reach the top of the ridge. Champadevi Hill (2285m.) is also a pilgrimage site with a Buddhist Stupa and a Hindu Shrine at the top. Walking through the lush pine forest on a well-developed trail is a wonderful experience. Superb views of Langtang, Gauri Shankar, Jugal, and Dorge Lakpa Himalayas are the major attractions of the hiking. Apart from that, we can observe the bustling Kathmandu city and spectacular village settlements from the top. Several return routes are possible. After a wonderful trip, we head down to the highway, take another route with great experience, and drive back to Kathmandu.
