Duer Hot spring trekking is one of the famous trekking route in Bhutan. Duer Hot spring trek is the old expedition route to Gangkar Phuensum and, with special permission; it might be possible to extend the trek to the base of the mountain itself, though this is rough, difficult route. Duer hot spring route is through a forest of Cyprus, juniper, spruce, hemlock and maple. Along this part of the trail between Tsochrnchen to Duer Tsa chhu, it may be possible to see musk deer, Himalayan bear, and herds of blue sheep. The main highlight of this trek is the Duer Hot Spring (known for healing properties). Duer hot spring trek includes a visit to a Tsachhu.
March to April and September to early November is the best season for the Duer hot spring trekking. Its starting point, Dur village, is one hour (5kms) of rough driving from Toktu Zampa . Along this part of the trail between Tsochrnchen to Duer Tsa chhu, it may be possible to see musk deer, Himalayan bear and herds of blue sheep.
