Kapan is a residential area, situated in the northern part of Kathmandu district in Bagmati zone. Kapan-Pullhari Gumba is one of the magnificient and pleasant one day hiking trip, offers great walking experience and as well as excellent view of villages and Kathmandu valley. The fairly easy trail goes through beautiful pine forest and meadows along ridge. Pullhari gumba is ideal for cultivating deeper insight into the Buddhadharma through listening, reflection, and meditation. The monastery building was completed in feburary 1992 and was blessed by the third Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche. On April 26, 1992, the third Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche dissolved his mind in parinirvana. However he had left behind his instructions and wishes to his devoted monks and disciples along with the wealth of his legacy. Monks engage intensively in prayer, scriptures, rituals, and dedication for temporal benefit of being and ultimate realization. These hikes and short treks are for every age, group and for all seasons.
After your breakfast in hotel, drive to Kapan village about 15km from city, then starting point of hike Kapan Gumba to Pullhari Gumba . Visiting Kapan monastery and Pullahari monastery which is the greatest stupa of buddhadharma reflecting meditation. This hike takes approximately two/three hours to finish in a day. Back to your destination.
