We had a 12 day trek to Everest Base Camp and it went so well! Everything from the pre-trip correspondance with A1 Excursions to our departure from Kathmandu was well cared for by Raj and his team. Prior to beginning our hike we were introduced to our guide for 12 days, Dorjee. Dorjee is truly a top-notch guide who stands out for his professionalism, experience and kindness. While EBC is do-able without a guide, we found that with Dorjee we were given insight into culture and landscape which we wouldn't know otherwise. We also found a peace in knowing that all the details were cared for, which allowed us to enjoy the trip all the more. Our trip was one that we will never forget, and I would recommend it to anybody. Thank you A1 for all that you do.

successful trip
Last December I approached A1 if they could help visit places where I could see local shamanistic culture as I found a reference to shamanism on their website. It turned out that the owner had a good idea of local festivals and could arrange for me to see a shaman festival not too far away from Kathmandu. It turned out better than I expected and I experienced a whole evening, night and morning of drumming and dancing by dozens of local Tamang shamans. There were hundreds of people attending the event, but not a single tourist. Perfect for my photography!

Looking for a reliable travel agency that will take care of our trek to the Everest Base Camp we approached several agencies in Kathmandu. While getting proposals back from the agencies, Excursion A1 managed and owned by Raj Kumar was the most responsive and reliable that answered all our endless questions very professionally and patiently. Trusting Raj, we chose Excursion A1 and it appeared to be a very good choice. The trek was very well organized from day one when we landed in Kathmandu until the last day when we took off back home. This includes, 17 days in the mountains with great guide and porter, warm sleeping bags and coats that we rented, and professional care along all the trek. Pasang our Sherpa guide was extremely sensitive concerning the AMS altitude mountain sickness, looking always for our safety. Eventually due to the detailed planning and the acclimatization time we succeeded to reach all of the peaks that we were planning , including the Cho La pass which is not obvious. (we met more than few trekkers along the way that could not). Thanks to Raj and his team our trek to the EBC was unforgettable. We ended up with a very nice traditional Nepali dinner that Raj invited us in our last night. Great agency great people highly recommended.

Breathtaking Himalayan adventure
In March 2013 I was with a group of around 20 Germans and an equal amount of Nepali carriers hiking towards the Anapurna Base camp. The beauty of Nepal in terms of people, culture and its nature needs no description but I´m very sure that the team of A1 helped us significantly in every moment. Starting with the airport-pickup with the very nice and knowledgable Shankar, who helps you to settle in Kathmandu to adjust for some days, the pre-depature people at A1 who give superb day-tours in and around Kathmandu and prepare you with everything you need for your hike to the outstanding work of each carrier in the Himalayan mountains.
And they are far more than that, because they don´t only carry your bags with a grim on their faces like we´ve seen it happening at various other tours that we met in the mountains. They did everything in a way, that your hike can develop all its beauty: They made you smile, when your legs are hurting, they were perfect navigators always knowing where everyone of the group was, they motivated you, when you saw that no matter how hard your day was, they even carried 20-30 kg more and marched on and they gave you all the service that you need.
When this comes together with the top-class tour planning of A1, delicious meals that you looked forward to during the whole day and breathtaking stops and accomodations offside the beaten track, then this is a lifelong memory.
This happened to me and I will be forever grateful to Raj and his team who made this experience unforgettable. And just to mention: I´m a very critical thinker and I usually do find factors to criticize, but here nothing was to criticize.

A1 excursion is awesome
This was my first trip to Nepal and the first time I did trekking in the mountains. From the Airport we had a perfectly organised trip. First we had some days in Kathmandu to do a little sight seeing and to complete our equipment. We also got provided with sleepings bags and duffle bags for all our stuff.
After that we met our porters and started trekking around the Manaslu. We even had a own cook for our group of 16 people.
I'm still very impressed how the porters carried our heavy bags (up to 20kg) and every time we met them over the day they were always smiling. The Raj Thapa and the whole company tried (and succeded) to fulfill all of our wishes.
In the beginning I could not imagine to do such a trek again because it was really challenging. But after a great journey I really want to come again someday.
And I would to it definitivly with A1 Excursion Adventure!
P.S. After the trip we spent some more days in Kathmandu and Raj came every day to the hotel to provide us with tips for spending our time and doing some shopping. He knows where you get good quality and a fair price.

Amazing trekking company
We (16 people) have mad the manaslu trekking with a1. It is an amazing company. Really well organised, perfectly equiped and the porters are really friendly. They really took care about us and served us even before we were thinking of anything. As we have experienced already other companys it was just the best one. We will for sure come back.

Best in Kathmandu
I have had two most excellent trips with A1 Excursion. Raj Kumar Thapa is the absolute best organizer around. Not only does he organize absolutely fun and stunning trips, but even small things are no problem for him. He even organized me top quality lettering quills in kathmandu. I can most definately reccomend A1 Excursion for trekking and every thing else!!
